The NOVESTOM development team released NVS4-T, NVS4-Q, NVS4-D, NVS3 and NVS4-C body cameras. all body cameras support H.265 features. HEVC (H.265) is an extension of the concepts in H.264/MPEG-4. H.265 provides essentially the same level of image quality as H.264, but with higher code efficiency, so the video size will be smaller. In other words, the 32GB version of the body cameras can save more video files.

Unlike H.264 macroblocks, H.265 processes information in coding tree units (CTUs). CTUs can process blocks of up to 64 x 64, while macroblocks can span block sizes of 16 x 16. HEVC is able to compress information more efficiently.

H.264 vs H.265 Body Camera File Size
The size of a video is defined as duration and bitrate. Based on our experiments on H.265 vs H.264 file size, we found that bit reduction is inversely proportional to video image quality and directly proportional to file size. H.265 encodes the same information at a lower bitrate compared to H264, but with the same video quality, so it is recommended to convert videos from H.264 to H.265 to save more space.

From the above H.264 vs H.265 comparison, it is now clear to us where H.265 outperforms H.264. There is no doubt that H.265 will become a widely used codec in the near future as it is indeed one of the best ways to compress videos and maintain the original quality.
